We Play Safe! 我們會安全玩耍
Pre-K 3B students showed that they were capable of participating and enjoying their online classes. They made an effort to listen and stay seated as we conclude our first Unit of Inquiry, Who We Are.
Pre-k3B學生表明,他們有能力參與并享受他們的在線課程。當我們結束第一個單元“我們是誰”時,他們能夠讓自己坐下來認真傾聽老師上課。
Our final line of inquiry focuses on following rules and playing safely. To deepen the students’ understanding of this inquiry, we read and discussed stories that explain the importance of being mindful of one’s surroundings and the people around it.
我們最后的單元重點是遵守規則和安全玩耍。為了加深學生對這個問題的理解,我們閱讀并討論了一些故事,這些故事解釋了留心周圍環境和周圍人的重要性。
The children engaged in various games while staying safe. When we played the “Bring Me” game, they carefully looked for objects that matched the color and shape that were displayed on the screen. Then, when we played “Simon Says,” the children followed the rules and completed the required tasks. They also learned to say “my turn, your turn” when we talked about how important it is to take turns.
孩子們能保證在安全的情況下玩各種游戲。當我們玩“找找看”游戲時,他們能仔細地尋找與屏幕上顯示的顏色和形狀匹配的對象。然后,當我們玩“西蒙說”時,孩子們也能遵守規則,完成要求的任務。當我們談論輪流的重要性時,他們也學會了說“輪到我了,輪到你了”。
Through play, the students are developing skills that will guide them to understand what it means to be good communicators, principled, and reflective.

On our final week of “Who We Are” UOI students are reflecting about communities, their understanding of roles and responsibilities different community members share and through interactive role-plays we make connections between imaginative and real experiences. During small learning sessions we are building literacy skills, making crafts, and reading stories to help us expand our knowledge to different subjects.

With everyone staying at home, the danger of fire accidents is high, so our students made their own fire engine and are ready to rescue… just dial 119.

Today during our new unit of inquiry about How We Organize Ourselves, we focused on the central idea: the scientific process. G2A conducted their first experiment.
今天,在“我們如何組織自己”這一新的探究單元中,我們集中討論了中心思想:科學過程。G2A進行了他們的第一個實驗。
We asked ourselves which liquid was heavier? Water or oil? Students wrote down their hypothesis on their CER (Claim-Evidence-Reasoning) chart. Then we did our experiment. We poured water in a bottle, then added oil. We noticed that the water was at the bottom and the oil at the top. A student suggested that we should shake the bottle to see if it would make a difference. After shaking the bottle, we let the liquids settle down and observed that water was still at the bottom.
我們問自己哪種液體更重?水還是油?學生們在CER(主張-證據-推理)表格上寫下他們的假設。然后我們做了實驗。我們把水倒在瓶子里,然后加了食用油。我們注意到水在底部,油在頂部。一個學生建議我們搖晃瓶子看看是否會有不同。在搖晃瓶子后,我們等液體沉淀下來后觀察到水仍然在底部。
According to our observations, we concluded that water was heavier than oil. Students then completed their CER chart following the scientific process.

Primary Years Art and Music Program – UNINTERRUPTED LEARNING

The Autumn season has crawled in while Covid lockdown is prevailing, and our children will always remember how we made them feel.
秋天已悄然而至,疫情卻突如其來,孩子們會永遠銘記我們帶給他們的回憶。
We are always ready to creatively adapt our Art and Music Study Plans to ensure uninterrupted learning. Lesson Plans were shared on MS Team and DingTalk and students enthusiastically enjoyed Art & Music classes taking place online. The Early Years explored LINE SHAPE COLOUR through cartoon drawing. The Primary Years explored Who We Are through our EMOTIONS, while Grade 5 inquired the concept of SHAPE and FORM. We could see and hear the joyful exchange on their respective screens from their homes during our Music Classes.
我們隨時做好了準備,靈活地調整我們的藝術和音樂課程學習計劃,以確保學生不間斷的學習。課程計劃在課前通過MS Team和釘釘班級群進行了分享,學生們積極參與在線藝術和音樂課程,上課熱情高漲。幼兒園的美術課程通過學習卡通繪畫探索線條形狀顏色。小學階段美術課程通過學習如何繪畫不同的情緒表情探究我們是誰的主題,而五年級則學習探究形狀和形式的概念。在音樂課上,我們通過屏幕看到了孩子們開心的笑臉,聽到孩子們跟著音樂快樂的哼唱和老師開心積極的互動。
